Astria Health is pleased to welcome Board-Certified Gastroenterologist Vu Le, MD, to its Astria Health Centers in Zillah and Union Gap. He started on July 18.
Growing up in a humble background in Seattle, Dr. Le is committed to giving back and providing high-quality care to underserved populations throughout the Yakima Valley.
“I’ve worked in the area for almost a decade, and I’m delighted to continue my practice as part of the Astria Health team in Zillah and Union Gap,” said Dr. Le. “There is a great need for gastroenterology services in the Valley, and I’m dedicated to taking good care of patients of all ages.”
Dr. Le joins Astria Health from Yakima Gastroenterology Associates, where he worked for over a decade treating patients with various gastrointestinal (GI) disorders and diseases. At Astria Health, Dr. Le will be treating patients at the Astria Health Centers in Zillah and Union Gap and at Astria Toppenish Hospital and Astria Sunnyside Hospital. Dr. Le will provide the following procedures and services to patients: EGD or upper-GI endoscopy and colonoscopy; ERCP, an endoscopic procedure to diagnose and treat problems in the gallbladder, bile ducts and pancreas; paracentesis; PEG tube placement; video capsule endoscopy; abdominal triggered point injection; and esophageal banding. He also provides treatment for abdominal pain and inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis, and liver diseases.
Dr. Le is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He has participated in several research studies and has published 11 articles in various medical journals. He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and an internal medicine residency at the same facility. He completed a Doctor of Medicine Clinical Clerkship in Saginaw, Michigan, as part of the Synergy Medical Education Alliance with Saint Matthew’s School of Medicine. Dr. Le received his Doctor of Medicine Basic Sciences degree from Saint Matthew’s School of Medicine Grand Cayman Campus in the Cayman Islands.

As a result of hiring Dr. Le, we have opened a new Endoscopy Suite at Astria Toppenish Hospital to provide needed GI services throughout our communities.”
