Astria Health is pleased to welcome Board-Certified Pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Teodor D. Butiu, MD, FAAP, to its Astria Health Centers in Union Gap and Zillah. Dr. Butiu started seeing patients this month.
“I’m passionate about working one-on-one with children and their families to provide competent, cohesive and comprehensive care from birth to young adulthood,” said Dr. Butiu. “There is a great need for more pediatric services in the Yakima Valley, and I’m looking forward to serving this community. It is a real privilege for me to help our children and their families.”
Dr. Butiu joins Astria Health after working in the Wenatchee area for the past decade and offers over 20 years of pediatric experience. Dr. Butiu and his team provide services to prevent, diagnose and treat common health problems and chronic and complex illnesses. His services include but are not limited to well-child exams, immunizations, sports physicals, and evaluation of ADHD and other behavioral health issues.
Dr. Butiu completed his fellowship in pediatric critical care at Seattle Children’s Hospital. He also completed a pediatric residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital in Chicago and a pediatric residency at Transylvania University in Brasov, Romania. He received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Targu Mures, Romania.
Dr. Butiu is committed to conducting pediatric research and teaching future pediatricians about best practices in the field. He currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics for the University of Washington. He is a Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor and a Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Butiu is multilingual in English, Spanish and Romanian.

Dr. Butiu is now accepting patients at Astria Health Center – Union Gap at 1420 Ahtanum Ridge Dr. and Astria Health Center – Zillah at 915 Vintage Valley Pkwy, Suite 200.
