Astria Health welcomes new Pediatric Occupational Therapist to Sunnyside

(SUNNYSIDE, Wash., February 23, 2022) – Astria Health is pleased to welcome Elizabeth “Eli” Sreniawski, MSOT, OTR/L, to its Pediatric Therapy Clinic at 1017 Tacoma Ave in Sunnyside. Sreniawski started seeing patients in the Fall of 2022.

“I’m passionate about empowering families to have smooth-flowing daily routines, reducing caregiver burden with high-needs children, and helping children learn to play with their family and friends,” said Sreniawski.

Sreniawski is a highly skilled occupational therapist specializing in pediatrics with an emphasis on working with children on the autism spectrum, with medical complexities, with sensory processing problems and with profound behavioral needs. She’s practiced in hospital and school-based settings treating patients of all ages.

Sreniawski is part of the new Astria Health Pediatric Therapy program offering occupational and speech therapy services. Program leaders are currently recruiting a pediatric physical therapist to complete the greatly needed service for the Yakima Valley.

“We’re so pleased to have Eli join our pediatric therapy team,” said Jillane Raines, Astria Health System Director of Rehabilitation & Therapy. “We hope to build this pediatric therapy program to help meet the community’s needs for young children with developmental disabilities and delays.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website, early intervention “can have a significant impact on a child’s ability to learn new skills and overcome challenges and can increase success in school and life.”

Children who can benefit from occupational therapy services have various developmental disabilities and delays, including, but not limited to, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder/attention deficit disorder (ADHD/ADD), Down syndrome or cerebral palsy. Parents who notice their child struggling with feeding themselves, grasping toys or not meeting appropriate developmental milestones should talk with their child’s healthcare provider and ask to be evaluated by an occupational therapist.

For more information about the Astria Health Pediatric Therapy program, please call (509) 836-4835. Sreniawski is accepting new patients.

Astria Health, headquartered in the heart of the Yakima Valley, is the largest non-profit healthcare system based in Eastern Washington. Astria Health is the parent organization of Astria Sunnyside Hospital and Astria Toppenish Hospital, along with 22 outpatient clinics offering primary care and specialty services, including but not limited to behavioral health, home health and hospice, neurosurgery, oncology, podiatry, rehabilitation therapy and sleep medicine.
