Yakima, WA (Monday, July 8, 2019) The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) has officially approved six additional Astria Health Centers to participate in the NHSC. This makes a total of fourteen Astria Health Centers now approved and participating in the program.
The NHSC is a federal program that awards scholarships and loan repayment opportunities to students who, in return, commit to provide primary health care in a Health Professional Shortage community. Students who are eligible for this program include those who are enrolled in an accredited medical (M.D. or D.O.) dental, nurse practitioner, verified nurse midwife, or physician’s assistant training. The student and scholarship recipient then commit to serve these communities between two and four years upon graduation.
Six of Astria Health’s Clinics have newly been approved for this program and are happy to offer this to our new recruitments for physicians and advanced practices providers. The locations of these newly participating locations are as follows:
