Astria Health expanding primary care and multispecialty services in Toppenish

Astria Health is expanding services in Toppenish. The newly renovated Astria Health Center is located at 516 W 4thAve, Toppenish, WA, 98948, next to the Astria Toppenish Hospital campus. This new center will serve the Toppenish, Granger, Zillah and Wapato area.

Already serving the area, Board-Certified General Surgeon, Dr. Lori Alvord, and Board-Certified Cardiologist, Dr. Oscar Bailon, will be joined by several new physicians and providers. The new Astria Health Center will include Cardiology, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Occupational Medicine, and Family Medicine; including Primary Care with Walk-In Care. Others joining Drs. Alvord and Bailon are listed below. Several of the specialists will also support patient care needs at Astria Toppenish Hospital and in the community.

Dr. Alan Greenwald is a Board-Certified Orthopedist who will now also be seeing patients in Toppenish. With over 40 years as an orthopedic surgeon, he is actively involved both as a medical practitioner and an educator. Dr. Greenwald spent more than twenty years as a consulting orthopedic surgeon in San Francisco at the University of California, San Francisco. Since moving to Washington, he has held numerous leadership positions in state and local professional medical societies including serving as President of the Yakima Medical Society in 2018 and is an Examiner with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Greenwald will see patients for sports medicine, arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee, joint replacement and hand surgery.

Dr. Philip Karuman, Board-Certified General Surgeon will be joining Dr. Lori Alvord in supporting the community’s need for additional General Surgery support. A graduate of Harvard University with a doctorate in Cell and Development Biology, Dr. Karuman is a skilled General Surgeon. Dr. Karuman performs state-of-the-art surgical procedures including: general surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and trauma surgery.Dr. Karuman also speaks Mandarin.

Dr. Luis Vincenty is an Internal Medicine physician who will be moving his practice from the award-winning Astria Health Center in Grandview to the Astria Health Center in Toppenish. With over 35 years of medical experience, patients can know they have found a strong primary care provider in Dr. Vincenty. Dr. Vincenty will see adult patients for such health concerns as wellness checks and physicals, diabetes, high cholesterol, and hypothyroidism. He will begin by seeing patients in Toppenish on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Dr. Vincenty speaks Spanish.

Randall Cobble, PA-C is an expert in Occupational Medicine and primary care and will be providing services to L&I patients in the recently-opened occupational medicine clinic at the Astria Health Center. With over 20 years of healthcare experience, and a US Army Veteran, he will treat patients for health concerns like pre-employment physicals, on-the-job injury care, DOT physicals. He will also treat minor emergencies, acute illness, and provide annual examinations.

Eric Jensen, CEO, Astria Toppenish Hospital also recently announced several new Behavioral Health Programs for the community. They added a new Medication Withdrawal Management Program in October 2018 and an Inpatient Psychiatric Unit opened on January 1, 2019.Astria Toppenish Hospital has also partnered with the Yakama Nation to provide outpatient psychiatric medication management services to tribal members in their behavioral health clinic up to two days a week. The Behavioral Health program is overseen by Medical Director, Dr. Pedro Fernandez and Marli Parobek, ARNP, Clinical Psychiatry.
