Telehealth

Astria Sunnyside Hospital and the Sunnyside School District have teamed up to help students receive medical care while at school, and reduce the time that students are out of class due to medical reasons. Now, a care provider can electronically communicate with the child and the school nurse right from the nurse’s office through a laptop video camera and a digital otoscope/stethoscope.

The School Telehealth Program can help students with medical conditions such as:

  • A common cold
  • Diabetes
  • Asthma
  • Allergies
  • Minor ailments like rashes or earaches

Telehealth is a grant-funded program, and is provided to the students at no cost to them or their parents, and insurance will not be billed. Additional benefits of this program include:

  • Fewer missed school days
  • Parents do not need to miss work to transport their child to see a care provider
  • Quick access to a qualified care provider
  • Registration is easy

To enroll, simply download and fill out the form located to the right of this page and submit to the school nurse’s office.
